Change an LPG Cylinder
Forklifts are powered by a variety of sources. They can run from LP gas or liquid propane, gasoline, diesel or battery. LP is a clean burning fuel ideal for numerous applications. There are several facilities which have large liquid propane supplies on site. This enables forklifts to be refueled anytime they require. In other places, the facility would have spare LP cylinders which could be changed out when the machine should be refueled.
When changing out an LP cylinder, you should truly be careful in order to avoid possible serious injuries. Like for instance: be sure to put on the correct safety equipment like goggles or safety glasses and heavy gloves. Make sure that you turned off the forklift ignition prior to changing out the tank. Then, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is firmly closed. Use your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Bear in mind that it would turn in the opposite direction of a standard connection and never utilize a metal tool or any kind of wrench on these connections. They are meant to be tightened only by utilizing the hand.
