Narrow Aisle Lift trucks
Some forklifts are specially made to fit down very narrow aisles in a warehouse. These models are referred to as narrow aisle forklifts. They can negotiate smaller aisles easily and enable you to enjoy some benefits. Like for instance, the increased amount of area to store things can really increase the overall available stock of a company.
Narrow aisle forklifts can maneuver easily as well. These equipment have been particularly engineered to move without much space. Their unique design has eliminated a lot of the items which are squished up into the design of the traditional lift truck's main body.
The disadvantage of narrow aisle lift trucks is that they are really slow in comparison to standard forklifts. Narrow aisle lift trucks would not work if you need to transport items across large distances. In terms of speed they will not be a reliable option. If you also have a standard forklift, this will not be a problem. You could just utilize the narrow aisle lift truck to move the load to a central place and afterward hand it off to a standard forklift which can travel the bulk of the distance in a timely and efficient manner. Commonly, narrow aisle lift trucks cannot handle as much lifting weight; hence, outside of smaller loads they are not going to be really helpful.
Electric Forklifts
Traditional gas lift trucks are not a suitable choice for indoor use such as stores or warehouses. They will not be as safe because of their fumes, or as cost-efficient or useful compared to an electric powered model. Electric lift trucks are normally designed to work and look a lot like gas ones, but they use electric batteries which must be recharged, instead of gasoline fuel.
The electrically powered lift truck has become more common and for a range of reasons. These machines could help companies save expenses on fuel. Electric models would initially cost more, but would eventually save you more over time. Like for instance, when gas prices increase, you would not be affected and will save lots of cash. Electric models tend to last quite a bit longer than gas powered models as well. This is partially due to the fact they are mainly used indoors and hence don't get as dirty or work in as harsh environments as the gas powered units. Electric units are healthier to use in poorly ventilated places like indoor operations and warehouses since they don't emit noxious fumes. It could be really dangerous to use gas or diesel lift trucks indoors.
The electric lift truck does have several disadvantages like the fact that they can really only work for about 8 hours. Then the machine will need to be charged for 8 hours and rested for another 8 hours. A lot of companies get around this situation by purchasing an extra battery so they can have less downtime and continually cycle them. There are fast charge batteries available on the market which are also reducing the charging time.
