Used Caterpillar Pneumatic Tire Forklifts Torrance

Use a Pneumatic Forklift
Pneumatic forklifts are common in warehouse and shipping operations. Also called pallet trucks or pump trucks, they are used to transport supplies and products around on wooden pallets using metal forks which are mounted on a wheeled counterweight. The counterweight has a pump that lifts the forks off the ground. A pallet truck is intended to be operated by a single person.

To be able to prevent loosing control while raising heavy loads, pallet trucks must always be operated carefully. Machine should be inspected prior to operating. Clear the wheels area of any obstructions. Make sure that the handle smoothly turns. The pallet should be stacked carefully in order to guarantee that nothing will fall off during transportation.

On the end of the pallet truck's handle, squeeze the level found on the inside of the metal loop to lower the forks and release the air in the pump. The forks can then be pushed into the slots of the pallet. The forks should be centered to be able to guarantee even distribution of the pallet's weight across them. Lift the forks from the ground by pumping the pneumatic lift's handle until the pallet has completely cleared the ground. Do not lift the pallet too high or the forklift can unbalance.

Pull on the handle and drag it behind you if you want to move the pallet. It is dangerous to push the pallet ahead of you since the thrust can cause it to lose control. Take turns slowly and don't attempt to stop suddenly. Stop slowly, squeeze the lever, and the forks will lower to the ground. Finally, remove the forks from the pallet by pulling them out. Return the pallet truck to its permanent place.
