Kinds of Hydraulic Cranes
Among the most common cranes in the construction industry is hydraulic cranes. They are used to construct everything from skyscrapers and buildings to freeway overpasses and roadways.
Cranes come in a huge range of units, styles and sizes. These various units enable the owner and operators to carry out many more functions within their business. Choosing the right kind of crane is really crucial for making sure that the material can be efficiently and safely transported to the place it needs to get to in order for the construction process to begin.
Truck Cranes
Typically, truck cranes have 2 different cabs. One cab is for controlling the crane and the other is for driving the truck when the unit is in transport mode. These cranes are very helpful for building sites where a crane is needed in many different places for the duration of the build. This is because of the fact that the crane can be easily driven from one location to another.
In addition, the cranes could be transported to various construction sites on the road as they could drive themselves and this eliminates the need for extra transport vehicles. Being able to travel on their own greatly reduces transport expenses at the end of the day.
The truck crane on the other hand is not stable enough to handle all the major loads that a hydraulic crane can handle. Hence, to be able to fix this issue, outriggers can be extended from the deck. The outriggers use hydraulic pressure to be able to lift the truck slightly off of the ground, making it balanced and stable.
Crawler-Mounted Cranes
The crawler crane is unique in that it has huge tracks on the bottom of the crane. These huge tracks are very similar to backhoes and bulldozers. The tracks enable the crane to move around a construction site successfully.
