Motorized Pallet Truck
The Walkie-Rider, Walkie or Rider is a Motorized Pallet Truck which is basically a motorized version of a pallet jack. They come in both "Walkie" models as well as "Rider" versions.
Like what the name implies, the walkie model is designed for the operator to walk along with the unit as they move cargo. The Rider model on the other hand, uses a small platform for which the operator stands on. The rider models are great for frequent transporting of loads over extended distances within manufacturing operations and warehouses. They are highly maneuverable and fast.
It is important to remember that there is no safety cage on this model and hence, it is not recommended to move tall or unstable loads with these equipment. A rider could be the perfect answer if you are looking for an inexpensive way of transporting cargo from one location to another. If though, you are required to move heavy loads short distances, and prefer to utilize a more employee-friendly unit rather than a pallet jack, the walkie model can be the right choice.
Order Selector
An Order Selector also goes by the name of Order picker. This equipment is specially made for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks attached to a platform in the Man-up design. This platform elevates both the load and the operator in an effort to facilitate manual loading and unloading from racking areas.
Typically, the order selector is a very narrow aisle vehicle which can work in smaller aisles. They are extremely useful pieces of machine during cycle counting situations as well as during physical inventories. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, although models that range in the 20 to 30 foot range are a lot more common.
